Stories from a diverse London

About Us

Patchwork is a magazine about London’s communities with roots from around the world. We bring you the stories and voices of people from these diverse communities.

We believe that London is a city shaped by its inhabitants and their lives. It is a place of open-mindedness, immense opportunity, and multiculturalism, that has long rubbed against the grain of the rest of the country.

Still, the challenges faced by Londoners, coupled with startling injustice, often disproportionately affect the communities that give the city its rich diversity.

With Patchwork, we strive to give a voice to these communities that live beyond the capital’s tall glass towers. By telling their stories, we seek to understand and amplify the issues they are facing, as well as what they are doing in response.

This is a magazine for those who are proud of London’s cosmopolitan identity, curious to delve deeper into what goes on beneath it, and motivated to preserve the diverse groups that make up its very fabric.

Patchwork magazine is created and run by students from the postgraduate International Journalism course at City, University of London. For editorial enquires, please contact magazine.patchwork@gmail.com.
